In the medical profession our goal is to help individuals who encounter illness to find healing. This includes physical, emotional or even spiritual illness. Victims of human trafficking are particularly prone to health problems including HIV, STD’s, PTSD, depression, consequences of physical trauma, malnutrition, dental problems, inability to trust others, panic disorders, lack of belief in God, feelings of isolation among many others. They have endured some of the worst forms of abuse imaginable. It is a natural fit that we, as a healing profession, should get involved in the restoration and recovery of the millions of women and children around the world who have been victimized.
